technical support is required.
As you are an internet consultant and
not a technician, there will probably be
many questions you are unable to answer.

company. The first line of customer service
is rarely able to answer technical questions
and will put you through to a different
department. You will therefore need someone
to be able to answer.
You don't want to be spending all your
time on the phone and the ideal option is

relevant person. Research has proved that
most people actually prefer this to phone
based customer service anyway (as long as
issues are dealt with quickly). The actual
handling of the support questions can be
outsourced. Be careful though. You need
someone who really understands your business,

otherwise you risk losing potential client's.
Alternatively, if you have purchased a
franchise or agency this will probably be
included with the license.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
A very important factor in maximizing the
lifetime value of a client who comes back
again and again is to make sure they are
delighted with the project you do for them.
This is where having a team of quality developers
is necessary, but it's also about good project
management.
Project management is the process used
to ensure the project runs smoothly, on
schedule, to specification and keeps the
client informed of progress.
In fact, as an internet consultant this
will be one of your main roles. You probably
won't be developing sites yourself (unless
you want to of course). What you will be
doing is getting the client's project requirements
and putting these into a brief. You submit
the brief to your development team. Discuss
with them the timescales for each main part
of the project and give a schedule to the
client based on this. Then during the project,
you will keep the client updated with the
progress and give the client's feedback
to the team. At the end of the project,
you would also check over it to make sure
it has been done to the exact specifications
of the client.
Be warned however that this can be time
consuming ... but it is a far better leveraged
use of your time than developing projects
yourself. The alternative is to either take
on a project manager which can be outsourced
or you can'take on a member of staff for
this important role. You need to set the
same high standards for a project manager
as you do for a development team though.
Alternatively, if you go the route of a
franchise or agency (or even a good outsource
agency) you can have the project management
handled for you.
BUSINESS SUPPORT

client's, it is important to have full support

It is unlikely you will get the first
